we’ve been pinging back and forth with @jeanchatzky for a few weeks now as she took on the six items or less challenge over the past month. we gotta say, she looked great all month and just reinforced our belief that you can do this challenge in style. we also love that, like a lot (more)

i don’t know why you say goodbye i say hello
hello everyone, i’m writing this from a hotel room in denver – i got stuck here en route to Boise, travel today was quite hell-like. but the good news is that the moon is full tonight and it’s hanging over the mountains and the whole scene is quite beautiful. I guess I’ll take it. ;) (more)
Post Mortem: Six Items or Less
What a week, and what a month! What many of us, including the founders, thought was going to be a cute little experiment, has morphed into somewhat of a international ‘fashionation’. Who knows where any type of fascination may lead? First off, I wanted to warmly congratulate and thank the SIoL founders, Heidi and Tamsin, (more)

My month of madness or How I Travelled In 6 Items
How many clothes would you need for a 15+ day trip? Try 6. At the start of the project I knew I was going to be travelling mid-way and being a frequent traveller i’m used to packing my bag in about 15 minutes. I’d usually mull a bit about carrying extra tees and then wonder (more)

Now on to the donation station
I cleaned out my closet last night, at least a first sweep. And I have this bag ‘o clothes to donate. My good friend works with Alpha Home, a recovery center for women drug abusers and they always have need for gently worn clothes. Feels good on many fronts – clearing out and giving back. (more)
Missing the uniform
My mornings are stressful again and all the clothes I saw hanging up in my wardrobe over the past two weeks and couldn’t wait to wear again seem a bit rubbish now. Time to go uniform shopping…?
I’m so proud.
I’m proud to have : participated in this experiment, stuck with my six items, and have met all you awesome people. I’m proud of HEIDI!! She was awesome on GMA this morning. So I still have not told my husband and I don’t plan on it. Maybe he will notice for round 2 in the fall?? (more)
end of an era
It was fun. Taxing at times, but overall fun. I think the main thing that I’m going to take away from this experiment is that on a grand scheme of things – no one, except you, cares about what you look like. It’s all in your head. And the nice thing is – you’re still (more)

Afterthoughts
“Whatever you do, or dream you can, begin it. Boldness has genius and power and magic in it.”
The Day After: A Restrospective Piece
I really did it. A few people didn’t believe it. I would argue that yes, the clothes that I’m wearing right now fall within my six item challenge. In the end my six items were: (1) Fox black “narrow” jeans, (2) Lucky Brand slim fit jeans, (3) American Apparel 3/4 raglan sleeve shirt, (4) American (more)
It is over. Or is it?
It is over. A month of excitement, mood swings, being called crazy, going crazy sometimes, finding time for real breakfast … is over. This experiment was a roller coaster. But I love roller coasters and I am glad I participated. Did I learn anything? Did I achieve my goals? When I started I didn’t really (more)
the ex boyfriend of clothes
It can’t have already been a month, right? I know so many of you have been anxious for this to be over, but I have been dreading this day. When I woke up this morning, I thought too long about what I was going to wear. Faced with the option, it was even more clear (more)
Liberation
First of all — Congrats to everyone who participated in the project. We wound up in the New York Times! Today is surprisingly anti-climactic for me. Last night, I did look through my closet, and felt somewhat giddy, like a kid in a candy shop blinking in happy disbelief at all his or her options. (more)
Wardrobe and More Weeded
From the day 2, I knew my selection was not the most smart. The one-piece dress I wore on the day 1 was not that inviting item I could ever mix with the rest five, for instance. The jeans were useful but not always cheerful in 30C & rainy season (that Seoul lies in this (more)
